I like to call the first part of Brian’s life, the Siloam days. That includes all of the events which together, eventually led to the making of the band (For a more complete biography, click on Here I Am Again).

Through his years of touring with the band and different government and social agencies, Brian's visited more than 60 countries around the world. He's spoken and performed in front of royalty, heads of state, the United Nations and youth groups pretty much everywhere you can think of! For a while he was even a spokesman for the White House War On Drugs campaign, and even still, he participates in the odd rally when asked.

I've often asked him to tell me about his trips. For sure he's got the typical rock and roll road stories. And no, I'm not gonna get into telling "those" kinda stories. But, he has a hard time talking about a lot of it.

Most of you probably know that Brian's a Christian and has pretty strong beliefs. But he's told me that some of what he's seen out there has really shaken up his spiritual life and has left him with a lot of unanswered questions. I mean, seeing children foraging through landfill sites with sharpened sticks, hunting for rats to take home for dinner, is tough.

Seeing entire families dying of AIDS or children starving in the streets with no families at all makes it hard for anybody to sleep at night. Yet, as devastating and depressing as those images are, he's told me that it’s in those same places, those impoverished disease ridden villages where one is forced to ask if God even knows that they exist, where he's met the people who have truly inspired him. Strangely enough, those are the people who have lifted his spirit and given him the strength to continue doing what he does.

I suppose it's true, sometimes you've really gotta see the "other" half to truly know how good you've got it.

But... On a lighter note, view Siloam's albums below!
